Stories of Immigrant Women

My art is a reflection of the immigrant journey, particularly that of women who leave behind familiar worlds to step into the unknown. As an immigrant myself, I deeply understand the complexities of adapting to a new environment, navigating unfamiliar cultures, and enduring the ache of separation from family and community. These personal experiences inspire me to create work that captures the emotional landscape of migration.

My creative process begins with conversations โ€” intimate interviews with immigrant women who generously share their stories. Their words become brushstrokes in my oil portraits, each canvas honoring their struggles, resilience, and moments of triumph.

These women embody strength, intelligence, and determination. Yet, their journeys are often marked by isolation, frustration, and uncertainty as they rebuild their lives. Through my portraits, I aim to capture that full spectrum of emotion, offering viewers not just a face, but a story โ€” one that invites empathy and understanding.

More than personal expression, my work serves as a platform: a space for immigrant women to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Through collective exhibitions, I hope to spark dialogue, foster inclusivity, and encourage social change that acknowledges the immense contributions of immigrant women.

Ultimately, my art is a testament to the power of storytelling โ€” a bridge between cultures and a call for empathy that deepens our shared humanity.
